Nulla captain Ben Taylor said three players were attending a friend's wedding and the club wasn't able to call up other players as they were expected to play in finals matches on the same afternoon.
"We didn't want to (have to forfeit) but it was unavoidable, we didn't have nearly enough players," Taylor said.
"We had eight players as three were attending a mate's wedding.
"All our local teams started finals so we didn't have any fill ins available."
Taylor said Nulla will field a side in their final regular season game against Taree West this Saturday.
Nulla are currently on the bottom of the ladder but could move into eighth position and avoid the wooden spoon with a victory.
Taree West are in seventh position while Macquarie is in eighth.
