The quarterly meetings are scheduled at different towns and villages across the Shire to provide residents with an opportunity to discuss issues of relevance to their location.
The catch-ups are designed to be less formal than a Council meeting and involve Councillors and senior Council staff inspecting sites of interest, answering questions and engaging with residents.
Council’s engagement website, Your Say Macleay, allows residents to stay informed and have a say on current projects. Prior to the community catch-up, residents can submit questions or topics that they would like to have discussed at the meeting.
Council’s General Manager, Craig Milburn, encouraged Hat Head residents and business owners to attend next week’s community catch-up.
“These catch-ups are a great opportunity for interested residents to come along and let us know what they would like to see happen in their area and how Council can work with the community to achieve its priorities,” Mr Milburn said.
“I encourage residents to submit questions via the Your Say Macleay website ahead of meetings to enable Councillors and staff to be able to provide specific details at the meeting to ensure that discussions are relevant and effective.”
Plans for the upgrade of the Hat Head boat ramp car park will also be reviewed at the catch-up.
Residents are encouraged to attend the Hat Head Community Catch Up on Wednesday, March 28 from 5-7pm at the Hat Head Surf Life Saving Club.
