While the majority of the group attacked bitou bush north of the surf club, a few people attended to damage done by the recent high seas.
Fencing that limits access to the dune area had been washed away so new poles and wire needed to be installed.
The heat and humidity was not welcomed by the workers but through perseverance the task was completed. Fencing contractors in the district need feel no competition but the job done was adequate for the purpose.
The group meets every third Tuesday of the month at 8:30am.
The meeting place is the large barbecue shelter in the Hat Head Caravan Park and all are welcome.
Tools and training are supplied so a long sleeved shirt, long trousers, enclosed shoes, a hat and water are all you need to bring.
