Positive team numbers in all junior ages and senior divisions will set up another great season for the association.
The beginners umpiring workshop held in the morning also showcased a great number of young umpires who are coming through the ranks.
They had the chance to put their whistles into action also when they practiced umpiring the junior grading day games receiving mentoring from the many experienced Macleay umpires, who volunteered their time to ensure the young umpires get the confidence and knowledge they need.
Junior numbers are always great each year with each division from 10's through to 15's having a good number of teams from each club competing this year.
The Set and Go non-competitive divisions also have positive numbers in them which is great to see as these youngsters are the future of the game.
The senior division 1 teams pool will be another tough battle no doubt between the eight teams with defending premiers Natureland ready to defend their title.
It won't be easy though as there will be some great competition as always with two South West Rocks Netball Club teams, one Crescent Head Netball Club team, one Saints Comets Netball Club team, the MNA 14's representative team and a further two Natureland Netball Club teams making up the eight.
These premier games are always great to watch and we recommend you come along and watch some of the action this year.
There will be a 2A and a 2B division also in the senior competition with all clubs well represented throughout the two divisions. These divisions also have some great games played each week and it promises to be another close battle on the leadership ladders this season.
The Macleay Netball is set for a big weekend of netball to kick of the 2019 season with all teams excited to get back into it. Full draw for this week's games is posted on the Macleay Netball Association Facebook page.
Representative Scene
The Macleay Netball representative teams will be travelling to Forster this Sunday also to compete in the Great Lakes Representative netball carnival.
Macleay are entering their 11's development teams as well as their 12's through to Under-17 rep teams.
These carnivals are a great opportunity for the teams and their coaches to work on their games and get prepared for the State and State Age championships coming up later this year in June and July.
Macleay has loads of talented netballers in its valley and they are looking forward to the rep season ahead.
Best of luck to everyone on this Sunday.
