One of the highlights of local activities celebrating Youth Week 2019 is the Dash with a Splash (& Twist) community fun run brought to you by Kempsey Healing Together Events. In keeping with this year's Youth Week theme, 'Coming together to Connect, Share, Speak Out and Celebrate', the family fun event promises to be a colourful one.

You don't have to be an athlete to join in the fun - feel free to either walk, jog or run the 2km track ... but remember, you must be prepared to be splashed with colour! Come along and visit Council's information stand on site and find out more about the community services we provide and learn some amazing facts about our Shire. Don't forget to have your passport stamped to be eligible to go into the prize draw.
I am really looking forward to this event and thank all the organisers and sponsors for their commitment and hard work in bringing this event to Kempsey for our youth. To participate, you can register on the day at one of the several pop-up stalls. I hope to see you on the starting line.
Kempsey Regional Saleyards
Council is currently compiling a range of options to be considered in relation to the future management of Kempsey Regional Saleyards facility. A recently held workshop was well attended by more than 50 saleyards users, Councillors and other interested parties.
This event was constructive, and we received great feedback from the attendees on what they thought about the various options. Staff have also conducted surveys of agents and the saleyards current users.
The information gathered from the workshop and surveys will form the basis of a Draft Options Paper that is expected to be considered by Council in the coming months. The Paper will then be placed on public exhibition for further community comment and feedback. I look forward to providing further updates on the Saleyards in the not too distant future.
