We knew Melinda Pavey received the highest number of votes on election night on March 23, but now locals can see just how many votes each of the four candidates received.
Votes for first preference in the first count:
- Melinda Pavey (The Nationals) - 25,115
- Susan Jenvey (Labor) - 9904
- Arthur Bain (The Greens) - 6179
- Dean Saul (Shooters, Fishers and Farmers) - 5644
- Debbie Smythe (Sustainable Australia) - 1698
Debbie Smythe from the Sustainable Australia Party was the first to be excluded, in the second count, followed by Dean Saul from the The Shooters, Fishers, and Farmers Party, in the third count. Arthur Bain from The Greens was excluded in count four, leaving Susan Jenvey (Labor) and Mrs Pavey (The Nationals) the two preferred candidates.
Ms Jenvey received 35.11 per cent of the final vote while Mrs Pavey remained the preferred candidate with 64.89 per cent of votes going to The Nationals.
The results were read out at the NSW Electoral Commission office in Kempsey at 2.30pm, with only one observer from the public, a representative from The Nationals, in attendance.
Locals can view the full distribution of preferences on the NSW Electoral Commission website.
