It was a busy Easter weekend at the Kempsey Golf Club last week with players coming from SWR, Frederickton, Crescent Head, Muree, Coffs Harbour, Wingham, Lane Cove and Gunnedah for the weekend of golf. On Saturday the players took part in the Open 18 hole Single Stableford event and on Sunday the 2019 Dunghutti Kempsey Open Day was held with both events proving very popular despite the showers o both days. A big thank you goes to all the players for participating in the events and to the club and the organisers of Sunday's new event.

In the Stableford event on Saturday the winner of the 'A' grade was Peter Hudson with a score of 40 points from Tim Spurgin from Crescent Head with a score of 39 points. Kevin Hopping took out the 'B' grade on Saturday with his score of 36 points on a count back from Wallung Dickson also with 36 points.taking out the 'C' grade with a good score of 43 points was Scott Witchard from Crescent Head, and with a fine score of 42 points Daniel Baker was awarded the runner up prize on the day in 'C' grade.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 33 points on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.On the day Azza Smith was very excited after he claimed a hole in one at the par 3 11th hole.
In the 2019 Dunghutti Open Day the players had to contend with some morning showers, however all the players on the day did enjoy there rounds and the day is expected to be bigger next year.
Taking the day and the 'A' grade was Kevin Smith with a net 67, while in the 'B' grade the winner was Greg Roberts with a net 73 and in the 'C' grade it was Junior Richard Campbell the winner with his net score of 71.
In the club members competition on the day the winner was James Benson with a net 72.
With tomorrow being the last Saturday of the month, the members and visitors will take to the fairways for the staging of the 2019 Wright's Accounting Open 18 hole Medley 4ball Aggregate Stableford and Individual event.
On Sunday the Kempsey Open Pennants team will play there 3rd round match at home against the seaside club of Crescent Head. The players will hit off from 9.30am and they will be hoping to continue their winning form.
A reminder to all players that the Thursday Dash for Cash is still being conducted every Thursday with a walk up start anytime from 7am. And also the members are reminded that the 2019 Club Championship's will commence on Saturday May 4th and all members must have renewed you're membership before then.
