Marine Rescue Trial Bay received an emergency call at approximately 5.30am that a boat had capsized and the Trial Bay Rescue Vessel and Rescue Jetski were quickly dispatched to the Bar.
Upon arrival, the Marine Rescue located three conscious men in the water and a capsized boat.
With the aid of a commercial fishing boat, the Marine Rescue pulled the men from the water and they were taken to safety.
The three men were unscathed but Marine Rescue Regional Operations Manger Randall Gawne claimed they were fortunate to avoid injury.
"Their lives were definitely at risk," Mr Gawne told the Argus.
"Anything can happen when a vessel rolls over. The people on board could have hit their head, it could have been a very different outcome."
Mr Gawne was very pleased with the rescue conducted by his team.
"It was a very quick response by a competent and qualified team from Marine Rescue Trial Bay," he said.
"It is always a challenge when rescuing people on or near a bar because of the sea conditions but they did an excellent job."
Mr Gawne wants this incident to serve as a reminder to people to report to Marine Rescue when they are on board a boat.
"We encourage boaties to log on when they depart and to always use a life jacket," Mr Gawne said.
The capsized boat was towed back to shore by Marine Rescue.
