In the end, the scoreline flattered Wauchope, who were a pace off of Saints and were fortunate not to concede more.
However, Wauchope did start the contest with plenty of energy, as they pushed for the opener and fired an early shot over the bar.
The warning shot stunned Saints into life and they began to control the pace, possession and position of the game.
Saints opened the scoring when Kurtis Smith, who received the ball from a Sam Mahoney miss-kick, fired the ball from a tight angle between the Wauchope goalkeeper and the goal post.
Kempsey remained on top in the contest heading into half-time but they weren't able to add to their advantage.
Saints' momentum continued into the second half and they were finally rewarded.
Smith, who played in an attacking midfield role, showed determination to fire two shots in quick succession and double Saints' lead.
Kempsey secured the victory when Griffin Ryan fired in the side's third goal of the afternoon.
Saints were also disallowed a fourth goal as the referee ruled a Saints player had interfered with the Wauchope goal keeper.
Saints coach Kevin Sinclair was pleased with the side's performance, despite having three first grade starters on the sidelines.
"It was a solid effort," Sinclair said.
"It's hard to go on the road and win a game that everyone is expecting you to win. It adds a bit of pressure and I was very impressed with how the players coped with it.
"They all focused on their job at hand."
It was a celebratory afternoon for the Saints, as for the first time in the club's history, all five men's teams earned a victory on the same day.
"It was a great day for us, there was a bit of a buzz," Sinclair said.
The victory lifted Saints into third position on the table and they still have a game in-hand.
Kempsey will be out of action in the Premier League this Saturday as they travel to face Bangalow in the FFA Cup.
