Just after 3am on Wednesday morning a perpetrator forced their way into the shop, using a crowbar to pry their way through the front door, before fleeing with cash.
Owner Tara Howard said this is the first time the business has been broken into.
"We've been here fourteen years and haven't had an incident like this," she said.
"They stole $417 dollars from the till, damaged the counter where the phones are kept and stole keys to our other store."
Echo Voice and Data have two separate stores on Smith St and the locks to both premises have had to be changed following the incident.
"Because they stole the keys to our other store, we've had to change the locks and repair damage to the door and the counter where they tried to get into where the phones are kept."
The perpetrator was wearing black pants, a dark jumper and a balaclava.
"They were definitely prepared and knew what they wanted," Ms Howard said.
The brazen act was caught on security cameras located inside the shop and has been handed over to police to assist in their investigation into the incident.
"The police have been great, they were here within 10 minutes and have been really helpful."
Anyone who might have seen anything or has any information about the incident is urged to contact Kempsey Police on 6561-6199 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333-000.
