Kempsey earned a valuable 53-36 victory over the Southern Cross University Marlins when they travelled to Coffs Harbour last week.
Cannons coach Carl Thurgood was ecstatic to earn the first win of the season and was pleased with his side's improvement in defence, after leaking in excess of 170 points over the opening three rounds.
The Cannonballs will face a tougher challenge this Saturday, as the Snappers are the Upper Mid North Coast Rugby Union defending champions and have started the season strongly.
The Snappers' latest victory, a 68-19 victory over the Port Macquarie Pirates, sent a message to the rest of the competition.
However, the Cannonballs will take confidence into their clash with the Snappers, as they almost defeated the side earlier this season.
