As a special treat this year's Bello Opening Night Gala will feature A Midwinter Night's Dream - a magical forest of song woven together by flame haired enchantress Claire Anne Taylor, nature boy Archer and squeezebox sprite Gleny Rae Virus. Audiences will also be treated to performances by Hat Fitz and Cara, Ethno Folk Orchestra, Miss Friby, Greg Sheehan, Leah Flanagan, Joe Newtown and one of the winners of the Youth Mentorship Program. The entire evening is deftly held together (or pulled apart!) by comedian and festival favourite Mandy Nolan.
"It's great to kick off the festival with a celebration," says Festival Director Glenn Wright "Bello's Opening Night Gala is the perfect way to get a taste of what's to come. It's kind of like musical speed dating and is lots of fun for the artists and the audience. We're thrilled that Claire Anne Taylor, Archer and Gleny Rae Virus have created something especially for the night."
