It was a historic day for South West Rocks as they witnessed the first women's rugby league match played in the region.
The Marlins opened the scoring through Tyan Leonard to give the home side a 4-0 lead.
The Shamrocks hit back quickly as Sharna Little dove over an Nicole Pender added the extra to take a 6-4 lead into half-time.
The Shamrocks continued their momentum after the break as Pender, Larissa Ward and Kaley Barnett crossed for a try to give the away side a 24-4 advantage.
However, the Marlins had the last say as Mishika Randall crashed over for a consolation try. Leonard converted to make the final score 24-10.
The Hastings League competition takes a break for the June long weekend before returning for the representative round in a fortnight.
