The championships are held over two days on the Central Coast and each player is required to play up to 25 matches of singles and doubles against five other teams over that period.
Concentration is taxed with little time for a rest in between matches as refereeing is also a responsibility of the players.
John Mundy performed particularly well, returning to competitive play after a knee operation in February but Barbara's win/loss ratio was the real standout.
The doubles matches also seemed to be a real strong point this time around. As it turned out the event felt like a local derby with two teams from Port Macquarie entered.
From further afield were players from Goulburn and Kiama.
The table tennis club is happy to take on new players and from 4.30pm until 6pm on Wednesday evenings there is a 'Have a Go' opportunity with free admission.
Come along to the Bowling Club in Austral Street, Kempsey and you might just find out you are a star!
