If successful iCare, which is a Kempsey-based community support group that provides much needed support to young and low-income families, will build an undercover area, supply two mini buses and a barbeque trailer.
"Our desire is to empower people to bring greater growth throughout the Macleay Valley. This project will connect and empower youth to help discover their self-worth, identity and purpose," iCare coordinator Moira Hodgekiss said.
"The facility will be a meeting place for young people and a storage area for our iCare food relief. This will enable us to further help people within our community with these needs.
"The buses help us to reach further to gather and build youth connections. They also will be used for food distribution and with the barbeque trailer we can reach some of our isolated areas to help those in need."
Three local projects have been lodged in the Kempsey Shire, they can be viewed on the My Community Website.
Go to https://mycommunityproject.service.nsw.gov.au/how-to-vote#1 before August 15 to help strengthen local communities and vote for this project.
