A meeting will be held this Friday, August 23 at the small hall of the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre at 5.30pm to discuss ways to participate and support the student-led Global Climate Strike on September 20.
"There's one thing that David Attenborough said that I can't get out of my head, 'we're running out of time, but there is still hope'," Susan said.
"Climate change is the biggest issue facing the world and we need everyone to step up to help solve it.
"We need to support each other to do things we've never done before, to call for climate action and grow the movement.
"The mining and burning of coal, oil and gas is the number-one cause of climate change, we want our politicians to start treating climate change for what it is...a crisis.
"If they care about our future they will take urgent action to move Australia beyond coal, oil and gas to 100 per cent renewable energy for all, whilst ensuring the transition is fair for workers and communities," Susan said.
