Val Wright from the the Kundabung Hall committee said "with howling winds it was not safe to have stall holders set up under trees or any where else as it turned out."
"By 10am the hall grounds were a dust bath. There was also the situation of so many close fires and a big proportion of our volunteers, also being members of the Kundabung Fire Brigade, being out and about fighting fires," Val explained.
"The kitchen was open for any one who wanted a cuppa and a chat and I understand this was very much appreciated."
The Kundabung Hall committee extend their thanks to all those market stall holders and potential customers for understanding the dilemma that resulted in the cancellation on the Saturday before the Kundabung Sunday Market.
While the inclement weather caused havoc for last month's market, the next Kundabung Market will go ahead on Sunday, September 8.
The markets are held once a month on the second Sunday of the month from 9am to 1pm at Kundabung Hall and Reserve, River Road, Kundabung.
