The school has partnered with Bell Shakespeare to provide ongoing opportunities for Kempsey Adventist School Students.
Head of English at Kempsey Adventist School Luke Taylor said the students enjoyed the opportunity to further their knowledge of their English studies and Shakespeare.
"We were able to take 21 students in the end, some of whom would never have this sort of opportunity," he said.
Year 11 student Amber said the experience was amazing.
"Macbeth was an incredible experience. Not only seeing the play but the actors were amazing. They delivered the themes such as ambition and love to an extent that made you feel as if you were watching the Scottish Play in Elizabethan times," she said.
Josie, a Year 10 student, said the excursion has encouraged her to further study English in her final two years at high school.
"Macbeth was a great experience to clarify my thoughts to choose advanced English in Year 11 and 12. It provided a new way of interpreting a text with such emotion and complex language. I thoroughly enjoyed being there and experiencing it in real time," she said.
The students also attended a post-play interview with the cast.
"Some of the questions the students asked caused much thought and detailed response, showing the level of understanding these students have gained from this experience," Mr Taylor said.
