The Rangers, who finished the season undefeated, were made to work for the title as they trailed 1-0 at half-time.
A long range effort opened the scoring for Port United in the first 10-minutes as the ball sailed out of reach of goalkeeper Ashley Llewellyn but it was the Rangers who controlled the majority of possession.
The Rangers hit the crossbar, missed a shot at an open goal and forced numerous saves from the United keeper but were unable to trouble the scoring in the first half.
Rangers player-coach Emma Tamblyn made some changes at the break, which included shifting Alyce Morn to striker, and they proved to be a masterstroke.
On the back of a more free-flowing attack, Macleay Valley piled on the pressure.
Morn, who was later selected as player of the match, scored two goals in the space of two minutes to give her side the lead.
The two goals were almost identical, as Morn received the ball at her feet from strong lead up play, beat defenders with her skill before firing into the back of the net.
The Rangers had more opportunities to extend their lead but were forced to scramble in defence for the final 15-minutes as United pressed for an equaliser.
Tamblyn claims the dedication shown by her teammates led to them preventing United from levelling the scores.
"We were under a lot of pressure towards the end but we wanted it more than them. We played with a lot of heart and desire," Tamblyn said.
"They had a few free kicks around the box and a few corners that we had to defend and Ash made some saves in goals but I was confident we had the win in the bag."
Tamblyn believes it would have been hard for the judges to pick the best on ground as she praised her entire team for their performance.
"Everyone put in the effort and had a great game," she said.
"I think it would have been hard for them to pick a man of the match because everyone did their jobs.
"It wasn't our best football performance but we stuck it out and did what we had to do."
The Rangers have proven to be the benchmark of the competition for the past two seasons and Tamblyn has her eyes on a three-peat.
"We will have to wait and see what happens, there's a few players who will be heading overseas or moving for work and things like that but I think the majority of our players will be back," she said.
"I would like to coach again and go for a third title. Our success over the last two years shows how good and consistent we are.
"It was pretty amazing to finish the season undefeated, it isn't something we set out at the start of the year to achieve but it was in the back of my mind as a possibility towards the end of the season."
The Rangers claimed the premiership in 2018, with a 1-0 victory over Port United.
The Rangers' impressive attack finished the season with 99 goals in 18 games.
