Macksville Ex-Services Snooker and Billiards Club went head to head with Sawtell RSL Snooker Club for the Inter-club competition at Sawtell on Sunday, September 8.

Sawtell RSL Snooker Club President Darrell Wallbridge welcomed all to the first challenge in his presidency wishing all a good day looking forward to Sawtell regaining the perpetual shield, which was held by Macksville RSL Snooker and Billiards Club.
Each team provided five A grade players and five B grade players.
Games were initially played with 15 reds, however later due to time constraints agreed to reduce to 10 reads and the competition ended at 6.45pm.
Fifty games were played on the day. All were pleased with the sportsmanship shown by the players.
Results for the day:
Macksville 33 wins retain the shield again from Sawtell 17 wins.
Macksville Best Players:
Best A grade player - Gary Nugent, Ron Smith, Jeff Louder all tied.
Best B grade player - Craig Pickvance.
Sawtell Best Players:
Best A grade player - Darrell Wallbridge and Ali Nourzaee tied.
Best B grade player - Bernie Couzens.
Highest Break for the day was 27, made by Ali Nourzaee of Sawtell over Garry Nugent, of Macksville, with 26.
Macksville and Sawtell both look forward to a return match early in 2020 at Macksville.
