For the serious watchers of all things thoroughbred there was plenty of tight racing - but most of the eyeballs were on the celebrations trackside.
This is after all a day to get dolled up and your bubbles and beer on - the punters were more than willing in a carnival-like atmosphere.
As well as the usual squad of locals, plenty had come from afar.
There was a huge gang of Where's Wallies from Armidale, while the Hawaiian-shirt gang known as Pitch Black and the Boys had come up the M1 from Lake Cathie.
And local Jodi Crow was knee deep in well wishers as she brought up her half century in style.
