Today, Monday, sees temperatures heading into the 30s around the shire - with a top of 35 degrees for Bellingen, 33 degrees for Dorrigo and Urunga a relatively 'cool' 29 degrees.
NSW Rural Fire Service has declared a total fire ban today ahead of forecast hot, dry, windy conditions.
And a reminder, that during a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open or carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.
Penalties are heavy - lighting a fire attracts an on the spot fine of $2200. If the matter goes to court, you could be subject to a fine of up to $5500 and/or 12 months gaol.
There will be some relief Wednesday, when temperatures drop back to the low 20s but then prepare to shiver as the weekend approaches, with forecast temperatures of 16-19 degrees on Friday and possible showers.
