Regina, the treasurer of Kempsey Little Athletics was a key organiser of the event and was very happy with how the afternoon turned out.
"It all went very well in the end; there were a few hiccups because we were worried about the air quality with all the smoke from bush fires," she said.
"We were considering limiting the events, but then the wind picked up and the skies magically cleared, so it all went ahead."
The afternoon had track events, sprints, long-distance running, hurdles, a coloured hairspray station, barbecue, and plenty of stripey socks.
"There were over 100 registered participants, nearly all the kids showed up, it was a great turnout," Regina said.
"We are still tallying up the amount raised, but we have decided to guarantee at least a $500 donation to the Ronald MacDonald House charity regardless of what the total is."
Every year Little Athletics holds a charity month to raise money for a charity and individual little athletics groups can choose to participate.
