The donation, raised through radio station Triple M Mid North Coast's annual coin drive, was presented by brekky show announcer Mark (Strawny) Strachan to grateful hospital staff, including maternity doctor Peter Fletcher.
Also present was Mid North Coast Governing Board members John Barrett and Neil Porter, Kempsey Heights Bowling Club Secretary Manager Kerr Black and Club Chairman Terry Burley, members of the bowling club's Give Me 5 For Kids Committee Phillip Fritsch and Brad Short, and South West Rocks Country Club representatives Faye Jarman, Nina Allen and Tahlia Webster.
This year's donation has funded a $32,000 resuscitation and warmer unit for the hospital's Maternity Unit.
Paediatric physiotherapy and speech pathology patients will also benefit from the fundraiser with new resources for children and the hospital's Emergency Department will receive entertainment resources to help families relax while attending ED.
John Barrett and Dr Peter Fletcher ensured Triple M Mid North Coast and its Macleay partners in the fundraiser knew how grateful hospital staff were for the support.
"We are extremely grateful to have the opportunity to thank the people of this community for their incredible generosity," Mr Barrett said.
"It is programs like Give Me 5 For Kids that make a huge difference in the lives of our young patients and their parents.
"We thank everyone who participated, the bowlers, the business houses, the broader community and Triple M Mid North Coast because without them, Give Me 5 For Kids simply wouldn't happen."
Triple M Mid North Coast General Manager Mike Crowhurst said he too was amazed by the Macleay Valley's remarkable response to the fundraiser.
"Every year the support our local community has for this very important event amazes me," Mr Crowhurst said.
"It is great to see everyone so invested in Give Me 5 For Kids."
Mark Strachan was also quick to praise the community for its support, in particular Kempsey Heights Bowling Club which raised $26,000 through their annual charity bowls day.
