RFS have confirmed that people who self-evacuated from West Kempsey, Sherwood, Dondingalong, Aldavilla and Frederickton are able to return to their homes.
The RSL Bowling Club Evacuation Centre has now been closed and all evacuees are being cared for at the Kempsey Showground.
RFS, Police and Emergency Operations have confirmed the status of roads and access west of Kempsey.
- Armidale Rd: Remains closed at Turners Flat Rd turnoff
- Willi Willi Rd: Closed at the intersection of Sherwood Road and Dungay Creek Rd
Access beyond these points is for emergency provisions only. Local Land Services are working with landowners to get feed to stock west of the road blocks.
Council will continue working with RFS and Police to ensure bridges and trees are inspected for safety ahead of further road openings through to Willawarrin and further west.
There are still active fires in various locations west of Kempsey that may impact safety and access today.
Essential energy have confirmed they are prioritising work to restore the network around the Willawarrin township, patrolling affected network areas out towards Bellbrook to better understand damage and planning for arrival of additional resources from across the state this afternoon.
