Paul from All Drone Water Cartage was busy trekking water to help fight the blaze at Willawarrin last Friday, when he noticed an injured and distraught cat.
Paul took the cat to Australian Pet Boarding in South Kempsey where she was treated for burns and dehydration.
After the cat was nursed back to a stable position, a photo was posted on Facebook to search for the owner.
The cat was quickly recongised and reunited with her owners, who tragically lost their home in the fire.
However, their six-year-old daughter was "the happiest girl in Australia" when she got her cat back.
Local Jasmine Cuthel has volunteered to help care for injured and sick pets at Australian Pet Boarding and owner Mark Brownvill said Jasmine went above and beyond to treat the cat.
"Jasmine drove the cat to be reunited with its owners but not before she went into town and bought the cat a new bed and some food out of her own pocket," Mr Bownvill told the Argus.
The Australian Pet Boarding is currently full with dogs and cats from families who have been forced to evacuate but Mr Brownvill said there will be around 15 vacancies for people to drop their pets off, if they have been forced to evacuate.
"We are full to the brim at the moment and I have even put four cats in my own house," he said.
"But around 15 owners have called and said they will be picked up their pets tomorrow.
"Anyone who has been forced to evacuate can drop their pet off here for free as long as there is still space."
Mr Brownvill suggested calling the office on 6562 4618 tomorrow morning to book your pet in before arrival.
