We have been here when Killick Creek stops flowing, or is full weed or sea slugs. We keep on returning because we like the town and the locals. During this time we shop local.
Some years our group looked out over an empty caravan park, we still returned.
Next year nine families will not come back due to an exorbitant increase of more than 50 per cent in holiday tariff.
According to the property manager all of the owners have directed him to increase the holiday rents and this has resulted in increases of over $400 per week over two years. The owners are adamant that these are the new prices.
Meanwhile, other properties have increased by just the CPI and small margins and their tenants are happy to return.
What happened to loyalty and accountability? The mighty dollars wins all the time.
