Inspector Stuart Campbell said locals and holidaymakers across the Mid North coast were well behaved while celebrating last night.
"Overall patrons who attended licence premises were on good behaviour, which resulted in only a small number of incidents across the Mid North Coast," Insp Campbell said.
"Crowd numbers were down this year across the region which also aided police in patrolling areas."
There were a total of 27 police officers deployed across the Macleay during last night's celebrations. In addition, there were Highway Patrol officers and a team of seven Operational Support Officers who were on hand to attend any area with a large gathering of people.
"The large police presence deployed last night did encourage and assist patrons to celebrate responsibly and safely," Insp Campbell said.
Statistics across the region from last night:
- One warrant issued for arrest
- One breach of bail
- One resist arrest
- One fail to vacate a licensed premises
- Two drug offence charges
- One offensive conduct
- Two high range PCA's
- One possession of a knife
"It was a relatively quiet night and the Mid North Coast Police District commend patrons across the region who did celebrate responsibly."
