The Stuarts Point Tavern organised an auction for the Yarrahapinni Stuarts Point RFS brigade and raised close to $8000.
"The auction was held on Australia Day and was an opportunity for the community to say thank you to our local RFS," Christine Duff from the Stuarts Point Tavern said.
"We raised $7900 on the day and the cheque was handed over on January 31."
The brigade will use the funds to purchase electric hose winders and radios for their trucks to better equip them for fire emergencies.
A number of local businesses and residents donated items for the auction.
"I have only had the hotel for under a year but feel very much at home in this caring and generous community," Christine said.
"The whole of Stuarts Point should feel proud of the outcome from the auction.
"It was a great day and everyone enjoyed coming out to support the RFS."
