Lyndey will open the Macleay Seniors Festival and will be the special guest for the Macleay Valley Farm Feast.
For over 30 years Lyndey has been one of Australia's recognised food and cooking show personalities. She was the Food Director for the Australian Women's Weekly and is an award-winning multi-media presenter, MC, speaker, food and wine teacher, consultant, debater, judge and regional Australian specialist.
Lyndey will be opening the Seniors Festival at the Slim Dusty Centre before speaking at the evening dinner for the inaugural Macleay Valley Farm Feast.
"The 20 minute talk will be on the evolution of Australian food, a personal perspective, some funny look backs and some clips from my TV show," Lyndey said.
"The next day I am going to speak about regionalism and culinary tourism, as well as attend the farm visits. I hope this will be helpful for not only local producers, but local consumers. We need to support our local businesses."
Lyndey said her passion for regional producers is one of the reasons she wanted to be involved in the Macleay Valley Farm Feast.
"Without farmers and producers we don't eat and people like me can't teach people to cook or encourage people to celebrate the bounty of our wonderful country," she said.
"I'm looking forward to seeing the evolution of agriculture in the region and meeting with producers. A region is as much about the people and what they do in it as what will grow there."
