President of the Bowraville Theatre Players, Elizabeth Newman, said that the notion for the show was born out of a recent U3A course called 'Fun and Laughter'.
The players have developed a concept for a comedy performance they hope will become an annual event.
This brilliantly produced chuckle fest combines a mixture of old and new comedic routines and introduces the newly minted Bowraville Theatre Players Junior Troupe.
The junior troupe came about after a group of young people expressed an interest in being involved in theatre.
"Laugh out Loud... it really is the best medicine"
Elizabeth considered that a show such as this is a great point of entry for them as the pressure to remember scripts and other production aspects is not as heavy in the format a comedy show.
The show will also feature the Blue Bird All Stars made up of clients from Blue Bird Disability Support Services, and all of our Bowraville Theatre Players favourites, who will take to the stage with new routines and some old routines that have been tweaked somewhat.
Being a comedy gala there will be skits and satire that will be 'take-the-micky', however Elizabeth says that no-one will be offended, but all will be definitely amused. Elizabeth acknowledged the Macksville Ex Services Club, who generously allowed the players to rehearse in the club for this production.
'It's time to laugh out loud' is a comedy gala not to be missed and you can catch this production at two locations. This Sunday, March 1 at 2pm matinee show at the Bowraville Theatre and on Sunday, March 8 at 2pm matinee show at the Nambucca Arts and Entertainment Centre.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids and concessions. Come along and Laugh out Loud, remember, it really is the best medicine. For more information visit the theatre's website at www.bowravilletheatre.com.au
