Coming a week after the meeting held in Willawarrin, this meeting will be held in West Kempsey, at Council Chambers, in recognition of the widespread impact of the drought, bushfires and floods.
With significant funding support made available from state and federal governments to assist with bushfire and drought recovery, council is interested in hearing from residents and businesses in other parts of the Macleay about what recovery looks like to them.
Council's Recovery Coordinator, Jo McGoldrick, said the meeting will be similar in structure to the first meeting in Willawarrin in February but with a broader focus.
"Council is interested in engaging with residents, businesses and farmers in other parts of the shire so we can effectively gain a deeper understanding of what the priorities are for Kempsey's Recovery Action Plan," she said.
"Whilst many residents in the Upper Macleay were directly affected by the bushfires, many others were indirectly affected or were impacted prior by the drought."
Council's recovery initiatives will be broadly focused into four key categories - social, built, economic and natural - and will involve a combination of council delivered actions and community driven events and activities.
The Recovery Planning Meeting will be held at the Council Chambers, Tozer St, West Kempsey from 5pm-7pm on Tuesday March 10.
