Macksville and Nambucca Heads Fire and Rescue, Rural Fire Service and Ambulance crews responded to reports of the single vehicle accident at 9am this morning.
When they arrived at the scene they discovered a car on its side in the northbound lanes of the highway.
Two people, approximately 50 years of age, were in the car when it rolled. A man with suspected broken ribs and a punctured lung was taken by ambulance to hospital.
The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for a period until one lane could be reopened and traffic directed around the accident.
There were initial reports of two accidents in the area, but a Fire and Rescue authority has confirmed there was only one, with confusion about the location attributed to the mix-up.
