Performances by the Bowraville Theatre Singers are always special uplifting events as anyone who has ever had the pleasure of experiencing one will attest.
That is why there were many music lovers with broken hearts last year when their sold out November 2019 performance was cancelled due to the bushfire crisis. Well, the concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020 (now cancelled).
After a Bowraville Theatre Singers performance you are left wondering how they could top that next time and yet, they always seem to.
The Bowraville Theatre Singers are about to do it again and this time have joined forces with a brilliant children's choir, Valla Voices.
Valla Voices began as a group of friends singing Christmas Carols at a local carols event in 2015. From there they began to rehearse weekly in a lounge room among the forest in Valla Rural.
They now have 30 members and have performed locally alongside Birralee Voices at the Bellingen Fine Music Festival, Coffs Harbour Eisteddfod, annually at Valla Carols and local Festivals and Markets.
In 2017 they travelled to Brisbane to be part of the Australian National Choral Festival and this year they were invited to perform in Sydney at the Gondwana International Choral Festival opening Gala Concert at the Sydney Opera House in July 2019.
Valla Voices is co-directed by Paul Jarman and Bonnie Nilsson and in 2018 welcomed Pru Borgert to their team.
Valla Voices will sing as a choir, present soloists, and will sing with the Bowraville Theatre Singers. The performance will include both choirs coming together for a special finale that will feature three songs penned by local composers Bonnie Nilsson and Paul Jarman.
Valla Voices have their sights set on a European Tour in 2021. The performance will serve as a fundraiser to help the Valla Voices meet the costs for their tour of Europe.
You will leave the Bowraville Theatre feeling elated from the beautiful music you have just experienced. Musical Director of the Bowraville Theatre Singers, Lissa Argue, always has wonderful musical surprises for the audience and I am sure this performance will be no exception.
The ever popular Bowraville Theatre Singers never fail to draw a crowd to their performances so please get there early to get a seat.
There will be two performances and they will be on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 1pm and at 4pm respectively. (Now cancelled)
All tickets are $15, the Theatre Box Office ticket sales will open an hour before each performance or you can also purchase tickets online at www.tickethost.com. For enquiries call 0421 790 888.
