"Generally there will only be one bronze course, sometimes two, but there was a lot of interest in joining the club this season," SWRSLSC Director of Marketing and Communications Grahame Ball said.
"Our trainers Bec, Craig, Spook, Jenni, Tony and Brie, who are all volunteers, have put in a massive effort to train these new lifesavers. We are lucky to have so many trainers of such a high calibre.
"With over 150 years of combined surf lifesaving experience, our trainers have once again, provided high-quality training which will see more qualified surf life savers patrolling our beaches.
"Which is a great thing for all beachgoers, and our club at South West Rocks."
These newly minted surf life savers now have their Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion.
Unfortunately, with the outbreak of COVID-19 panic (Coronavirus), Ball says that SWRSLSC has had to halt further plans for training.
"We were getting ready for more courses in May, advanced resuscitation, another bronze course, and IRB crew and drivers, but that is all on hold until the Coronavirus situation is resolved," he said.
