The idea was sparked following the cancellation of Anzac Day services due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Light Up the Dawn movement is encouraging everyone to share their ANZAC spirit on April 25.
Kempsey RSL Sub-branch president Allan Wardrope said the club fully supports locals commemorating ANZAC Day by holding their own private service at dawn.
"We do encourage everyone in the community to hold a service in their driveway or on their front porch," he said.
"ANZAC Day is a very important day to mark and although it will be different this year, we can still remember those who fought for our country."
Mr Wardrope said the Macleay Valley community has shown their resilience during the recent drought and bushfires.
"The community has shown the true Australian spirit during these times and ANZAC Day is another time where the community needs to show their support," he said.
"The sub-branch can't march which is disappointing but we will be supporting veterans by standing alone and holding private services."
At 6am on Anzac Day, April 25, light up the dawn by standing at the end of your driveway, on your balcony or in your living room to remember all those who have served and sacrificed. Pledge your place and stream a short commemorative service on Anzac Day at rslanzacspirit.com.au
Kempsey Shire Council will also be placing wreaths at local cenotaphs on April 25.
If you're setting the alarm clock this ANZAC Day, we want to hear who you'll be standing for - is it for a relative or an ancestor who has served?
Where did they serve and what was their sacrifice?
Or are you a veteran yourself?
