James Benson, who is the current Kempsey Golf Club Champion was victorious on Saturday in the 18 Hole Medley Single Stableford event at the Kempsey Golf Club with a 5 under par round of 41 points.
James, who is a scratch handicap player had a round which included 6 birdies and just one bogey for his round of 67.
With another good field of 96 players and with players back in groups of 4, the day was well supported by a number of visitors from South West Rocks, Crescent Head, Massey Park and Frederickton.
Despite the COVID19 rules still applying the players enjoyed their rounds on a course in tip top condition.
With James Benson the winner in the 'A' grade on 41 points the runner up was our green keeper Graeme Croad with a score of 39 points.

Taking out the 'B' grade this week was Daniel Baker who is really enjoying his time on the golf course and recorded a round of 41 points for his victory.
With 40 points on a count-back, Phillip Ducat from South West Rocks was the runner up in the 'B' grade.
Back to his best after some time away from the game Ron Ingall was awarded the 'C' grade top prize with his round of 38 points and with a score of 36 Steven Trott found his way around his new club with a runner up spot on the day.
With a large field there was a total of 32 balls given out in the weekly ball competition and players with a score of 33 points on a count-back received a ball and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
On Saturday May 23rd the 2020 K & J Meats Open 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event will be held with the first players hitting off from 7am.
All intending players can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round and all players are reminded to be aware of the COVID19 rules still applying for the club.
