The woman won first prize $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10389, drawn Tuesday, June 23.
In addition her entry of three consecutive numbers also scored her a consolation prize of $2,000.
However officials from the Lotto had been unable to contact her to deliver the winning news. Instead, she realised her good fortune when she checked her ticket in-store.
"I only found out when I checked my ticket at the newsagent. I couldn't believe it!" she said.
"I've been playing for decades. I've won free tickets and smaller prizes, but nothing quite like this. It's just fantastic!
"A few days ago, I was in the garden and was thinking how I'd love to get a landscaper in. So that's certainly what I'll do now!
"I like my garden, but I'd just love something a bit more manageable."
The winning entry was purchased at Macksville Newsagency.
Team member Amy Welsh said it was great to see a win back in town: "It's fantastic for the community right now. Just to pick everyone up a bit as people have been struggling.
"This is the fifth first prize we've sold in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot. We've also sold a Lotto division one, and a few Instant Scratch-Its top prizes.
"In one month in 2016, we actually sold four major prizes in one month. Perhaps this is the start of another winning streak! Wouldn't that be nice!"
