The Mustangs started the season with a close 12-6 victory over Macksville Sea Eagles and this weekend's fixture is sure to be just as tough after the Hawks smashed Port City Breakers 24-8.
Coach, Reuben Jones, expects a tough battle.
"They obviously had a really good win last week and every year they've got one or two representative players so we'll have to be at our best," he told the Argus.
After the success of the Kempsey Dragons 16's in winning the premiership last year, the Mustangs are fielding a young side this year which provides Jones with plenty of enthusiastic players who are willing to commit to training.
"With the Dragons winning last year most of those boys are in the squad now, overall it's a young side," he said.
"There's probably around 5 or 6 boys that are 18 so it's probably half half in terms of the age groups in the team."
The Dragons' league tag side will be looking to pick up from where they left off this weekend, taking on the Smithtown Tigers.
Both sides are coming into the game after strong wins with the Tigers defeating Bellingen Dorrigo Magpies 28-4 and the Dragons bringing the mercy rule into play against Bowraville after the score reached 52-0.
Kick off for the Mustangs is scheduled for 3:30pm at Verge Street Oval.
