The new clinic, located at the Community Health Centre on Steve Eagleton Drive, is the 10th dedicated COVID-19 testing clinic to open on the Mid North Coast.
Chief Executive of the Mid North Coast Local Health District Stewart Dowrick said the clinic has been opened to make it easier for residents in smaller areas to get tested.
"An additional COVID testing clinic has opened at the South West Rocks Community Health Centre to increase the availability of testing in our smaller communities," he said.
"There's parking available and access is via the rear of the building."
The South West Rocks clinic opened on Monday, August 10 and will be open on weekdays from 9am to 3.30pm (closed between 12.30 and 1.30pm).
COVID-19 clinics are available across the region in Kempsey, Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Bellingen, Nambucca Heads, Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga, and two drive-through testing services at Laurieton and Macksville.
There are no new cases of COVID-19 on the Mid North Coast. To ensure the community is protected, anyone, even with the mildest of symptoms, is urged to get tested.
"It is critical that people continue to come forward for testing even for the mildest of symptoms, such as a runny nose, scratchy throat or a cough," Mr Dowrick said.
More than 30,800 tests have been conducted on the Mid North Coast since early February. Of those tests, 4455 are from the Kempsey LGA, these include anyone with a Kempsey LGA postcode.
The opening of the South West Rocks testing clinic comes after the Kempsey clinic, located at Kempsey Hospital, extended its hours to meet the demand for testing in late July.
The Kempsey testing clinic is open seven days a week from 8.30am to 2.30pm.
