Ms Pavey walked 16km on her first day of the trek and was joined by her husband Warren and members of National Parks and Wildlife.

"I'm trying to walk on the beaches and over the headlands as much as possible. It was a very beautiful start to the walk," she said.

"It was great to see how many people were staying at Point Plomer and enjoying our region."

The idea of doing this trek has been a goal for Ms Pavey since she was elected as the Member for Oxley in 2015.

"I have wanted to do this for a number of years but never had the chance. It's going to be great seeing more of our coastline and meeting with locals during the five days of the walk."

Residents also have the opportunity to raise community concerns with Ms Pavey while she's in the area.

"The main issues raised on the first day were the tarring of Point Plomer Road and the need for more police presence south of Crescent Head, especially when it's busy," she said.

"The police presence is something I will be looking into with our new Superintendent Shane Cribb.

"Its good to be out talking with locals and listening to their concerns."

Ms Pavey departed Crescent Head on the second day of the walk at 10am today and was joined by founder of Baylin's Gift Hayley Hoskins for the 20km trek to Hat Head.

"One of the reasons for the walk is to help promote exercise as a positive impact on mental health," Ms Pavey said.

"Walking and exercise are proven to be good for our mental health, and this message is especially important as we all work together to thrive during the COVID-19 outbreak."

The walk will cover more than 100km over five days, and Ms Pavey encourages locals to participate.

Thursday, September 3 - Crescent Head lookout to Hat Head. Ms Pavey will at the Hat Head Bowling from 5 until 6pm.

Friday, September 4 - Hat Head to South West Rocks. Ms Pavey will be at the South West Rocks Country Club from 6pm.

Saturday, September 5 - Stuarts Point to Nambucca Heads. Depart Scotts Head at 1pm. ETA Nambucca River 3pm.

Sunday, September 6 - Nambucca Heads to Mylestom. Depart Valla Beach headland coffee shop 9am. Depart Hungry Head Surf Club 11am. Arrive Urunga Boardwalk midday. Cross river via boat to Mylestom.
