The five Macleay Valley Coast Holiday Parks managed by Kempsey Shire Council were all booked out over the school holidays and averaged at 90 to 100 per cent capacity.
Manager of the Horseshoe Bay Holiday Park Nicole Wighton said the park was full of activity over the past two weeks.
"We had a lot of newcomers to the area and we found that because people couldn't holiday in Queensland or go overseas, they were coming here and visiting our coastal towns," she said.
"There were also a lot of walk-in bookings because people were stopping in on their way home.
"We also had a number of new clients which was really good."
Nicole said since the holiday park reopened to guests at the beginning of June, they have had a high number of bookings.
"We're pretty much booked out until Christmas now, it's been really good for us," she said.
It's a similar story for Crescent Head Holiday Park, with manager Alison Fitzgerald saying the park was fully booked for the school holidays.
"We were extremely busy, I think everyone wanted to get out and about and take a small holiday," she said.
"We had cancellations from people coming from other states, but they filled up quickly which allowed us to open up to a new market and welcome new guests.
"We usually are booked out until Christmas and the end of the year. It looks like it's going to be the same for us this year."
Alison said the holiday park industry is benefiting immensely from the easing of restrictions.
"The industry is booming at the moment because people want to get away and take small holidays. We're even finding people from around the area are booking weekends away and appreciating the freedom of being able to travel," she said.
"Hopefully we will get the announcement for borders to open again at the start of November which will allow more people to visit our area."
