"It is a great honour to receive these awards," Chris Dockrill said.
"When you consider the range, quality and sheer number of films against which we were competing, it is reassuring to know that The Island of Doctor Moron is attracting such favourable attention."
Antwerp is the 17th international film festival to have selected the Dockrills' film for screening and Belgium is the eleventh country in which the film has been screened, nominated and received awards.
In Antwerp, the film was nominated in three categories including Best Feature Film, Make up and Score and won Best Director and Best Costume.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the festival and awards ceremony had to move to an online format.
"It was an interesting experience to be online at 3am our time and to see so many people from so many countries participating," Chris said.
The Dockrills aim to find investors to take the live show from which the film was made to the USA.
"The show has enormous commercial potential and we look forward to the next chapter in the adventures of Doctor Moron," he said.
