Bowraville Central School has placed equal second in the NSW Education Department's 'Looking through our window' photo story competition that celebrates the people, places and spaces of rural and remote education through a series of 10 photographs.

The competition sought to capture the unique perspectives of schools and their context.
The Rural Education team intend to use the photo stories submitted in various forms of media to build an understanding of the context and highlight the great things about rural and remote schools.
Bowra Central's photo story captured the hearts of the judging panel which included representatives from the NSW P&C Federation, Isolated Children's Parents' Association, Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and a Director, Education Leadership from the NSW Department of Education.
The school will receive $1250 prize money to be spent on a project to enhance their learning environment.
More than 180 entries were received from 129 schools with several schools given an honourable mention.
