Throughout the dominant performance at the Oxley Oval, the Rovers managed to chase down the Magpies score of 99, while only losing four wickets and hitting a total of 101 in the process.
Initially, the home ground advantage counted for nothing when the Magpies won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 47 unanswered runs; however, their momentum wasn't to last.
Some solid work by the Rovers saw four Magpies go down in quick succession, and after a decent start by the away team, the tide began to shift in favour of the local side.
The remaining Magpies held out for another 50 runs, but ultimately they couldn't stop the relentless home team and the last of the Port City players were out, leaving the total at 99 runs.
It would be a tall order for the undefeated Rovers to catch the near-century, but they proved more than up for the challenge.
During the early stages, the Rovers got off to a slow start, with Brett A Hutley out after scoring a single 4.
Mitchell O Korn was done only a few moments later, and with a score of 9, it appeared the undefeated streak might be in trouble.
Jarrod Prosper and Matthew J Powick were able to get a few runs on the board, inching closer to the Magpies total, and bit by bit, the home side clawed back runs.
Ultimately it would be Jack Wakely and Jackson Korn who put the final nail in the coffin, surpassing the Magpies score and ending the game early.
Wakely was the top scorer with 49 runs and not out; the next closest scorer was Matthew J Powick on 23 runs.
After the weekend, the Rovers extended their lead over the rest of the competition and currently have 28 points on the competition ladder.
The Port Pirates are nipping at the Rovers heels in second with 24 points, and Wauchope RSL round out the rest of the top three on 15.5 points.
The Rovers have the BYE this weekend and will be out of action until December 5 when they will take on the also undefeated Port Pirates in a match at South Kempsey oval that will most likely decide who stays on top of the ladder for the foreseeable future.
