It was a very hot weekend for golf at the Kempsey Golf Club last Saturday and Sunday not only the weather but on the course as well.

With the two days of golf drawing a field of over 140 players the weekend was a very good result for the club and the sponsors of the two days.
Firstly on Saturday it was the 2020 Rod Kinnear 18 hole single stableford event and on Sunday it was the 2020 Macleay Valley Travel Open Day for the club.
In the Stableford event on Saturday the winner of the top grade was Scott Williams with a round of 36 points from Mike Brady with 35 points as the runner up.
Paul Hollis continued his good form to take out the 'B' grade with 35 points with Ray Emery also on 35 points as the runner up.
Marie Adams from Crescent Head won the 'C' grade with her round of 42 points and in the runner up spot it was William Pollock with 39 points.
Glen Tuckwell was the winner of the super tee ntp on the 18th hole while in the ball competition the winners were players with a score of 33 points on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime.
In the 2020 Open Day there was many a good score on the day with our club champion James Benson producing a super round of golf with a 5 under par round of 41 points to win the Gross event on the day.
Taking out the best net score on the day was Tony May with his good round of 42 points to claim the title as net champion.
In the 'A' grade on Sunday the winner was Graeme Dyet who continues to improve his game each week and on Sunday he recorded a round of 39 points for the victory.
Tim Smith with 39 points also was the runner up while in the 'B' grade Nathan Moran won the day with 37 points and with 37 also Michael Clay was the runner up.
Coming in at the end of the field on the day was Caleb Foran with his round of 38 points crowning him the 'C' grade winner.
Luke Morris after recording a round of 34 points was the runner up.
Over the two days the visitors in the fields were from Crescent Head, Frederickton, SWR, Macksville, Tamworth, Nambucca Heads, Massey Park, Emerald Downs and Mount Coolum golf clubs.
A very big thank you goes to the sponsors on the two days and to all the helpers on the day and the course staff for a wonderful job on the course.
Golf on Saturday at the Kempsey Golf Club will be the 2020 Team Spirit 18 hole Single Stroke event for the Monthly Medals in each grade for the month of December.
