A large field took part under threatening skies but the players remained thankfully dry.
This event is always a great day with loads of family members home for Christmas from as far afield as Melbourne and Brisbane joining in.
Winners were the team of G Christian, J Summerville and J Sommerville with Mick May, Alan Shearer and Selwyn Brandford runners-up.
The long drive prizes are always keenly sought after and Saturday was no different with the winners being: A Grade Dane Luffman, B Grade Don Forrester and C Grade Jesse O'Grady.
Nearest the pin shots on the 4th/13th holes went to: A Grade Brad 40, B grade Nathan Grace and Joe Borg won the C Grade. Other nearest the pin shots went to: A Grade Trent 40, B Grade Brad Southan while no C grader hit the target.
This Saturday's event will be a stroke round for the monthly medal and spoon sponsored by Steve Ash.
Another traditionally well supported event coming up is the annual Bernard Laverty Memorial three man Ambrose on January 16 (again no handicap is needed, contact the club on 6568-1400 to book a spot).
The weekly stableford event is continuing so if anyone's keen for a game just turn up to the club.
Finally thanks to Beau Lavender who finished up as the head greenkeeper just before Christmas for his years of service. He leaves with the course and greens in great shape, sorry to see you go, Beau.
