The subject is 'Weddings' of the museum collection, which includes five gowns dating from the late 1940s, one being a gown made from parachute material which was popular after the Second World War. This particular wedding gown was worn by approximately eight other brides.
Included in the collection is a wedding skirt from the early 1900s.
There is an extensive collection of wedding photographs on exhibit including a large number from the Crombie Studios of Macksville with some wonderful local history, dating back to the First World War.
A number of photographs are unnamed, and it would be wonderful if some of our visitors could identify these, maybe it is an aunt, uncle or even grandparents of yours?
The exhibit will be on display at the museum until January 31.
Admission fees to see this beautiful display plus many more exhibits at the museum are: $4 for adults, $3.50 for seniors and $2 per child.
