The Island of Doctor Moron has won Best Director at the World Independent Cinema Awards (WICA) recently.
Writer, producer and director Chris Dockrill said he is humbled by the latest award for his film.
"Just to be nominated in a field of such talented people is humbling. To win this particular award is remarkable," he said.
The film received two nominations for WICA: Best Score and Best Director.
This is the 18th international film festival in which the film has been selected, screened, nominated and/or awarded.
It has also screened in 11 countries to date.
Due to COVID-19, the awards ceremony was via Zoom, with nominees from many countries taking part.
"For me, it was a 3am wake up call as the ceremony happened at 4pm UK time," Chris said.
Chris made sure he acknowledged the input of the 35 cast members and the production crew, all of whom ensured that the production was to such a high professional standard.
"In this, once again, Moron demonstrates its unique appeal."
"It really is stand-alone piece of theatre that delights audiences of all ages across the world," Chris said.
"Our long-term goal is to attract investors to enable us to launch the live show in the USA and beyond."
