
A THREE-day drink and drug driving blitz by police across the Mid North Coast has seen more than 11 drivers charged with mid to high range drink driving while 25 others tested positive for drugs.
Officers from the Mid North Coast Police Command conducted Operation Trident between Friday, February 12 and Sunday, February 14.
Police conducted high profile breath and drug testing in the Port Macquarie, Kempsey and Nambucca Valley areas.
Police conducted over 2000 breath tests with 18 of those returning positive results, 11 of which were for mid or high range PCA.
The blitz also conducted 203 random drug tests netting 25 positive indications for drugs.
Officers also detected and charged 10 drivers for unlicensed driving and other offences.
Police said they will continue to run similar operations in the future in an effort to identify and remove dangerous drivers from local roads.
